The Issaquah Alps Trails Club boasts a rich 46-year legacy, chronicled in the Alpiner Archive. Founded in 1979, the club emerged from a community of passionate hikers and conservationists, inspired by Harvey Manning’s whimsical moniker for the area, the "Issaquah Alps." Initially focused on local trails, the Club spearheaded the successful "downhill" Mountains to Sound March in 1990, promoting conservation across expansive landscapes, including Taylor Mountain and the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie.
