Rod & Reel: Fishing & Tackle Loaner Program

Experience the outdoors at Presque Isle State Park through two engaging programs: the Rod & Reel Fishing & Tackle Loaner Program and Storywalk. The fishing program allows individuals to borrow free rods, reels, and tackle boxes to enjoy fishing within the park, supported by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the American Sportfishing Association, and DCNR. To participate, one adult must present a valid ID, and equipment is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Participants should adhere to fishing regulations and return equipment by 3:00 PM on the same day. A valid Pennsylvania Fishing License is required for those aged 16 and older, with additional permits needed for specific areas.

In addition, immerse yourself in nature while enjoying a story during the Storywalk. Stroll the Watershed trail in the Kings Gap Hollow Area and follow along with "Thomas Jefferson and the Mammoth Hunt" by Carrie Clickard. Don’t forget to sign the guestbook during your visit! These activities are a wonderful way to connect with nature and foster a love for the outdoors.
