The Ridgefield Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts center dedicated to entertaining, enriching, and educating its community and surrounding areas, inspiring people of all ages and backgrounds. Originally built in 1938 as an auditorium, it was revitalized and reopened in 2002, preserving its renowned acoustics while incorporating modern staging, lighting, and sound systems. The Playhouse hosts over 200 live shows annually, including theater, music concerts, comedy, dance, and film screenings, attracting over 100,000 patrons each year. It also features a robust Arts in Education program, providing curriculum-aligned theatrical presentations to thousands of students, and a Community Engagement Program focused on making arts accessible through inclusive and affordable programming, donations, and partnerships. Recent renovations have further enhanced the venue's facilities, ensuring its continued role as a vital cultural hub.
