The Grayslake Area Public Library District aims to connect the community, enrich lives, and inspire ideas. It offers a wide range of materials, including over 150,000 physical items and 125,000 e-materials, accessible through a consortium with over 5 million items. Services include borrowing unique items from the "Library of Things" (e.g., telescopes, sewing machines, STEAM kits), access to cutting-edge technology in its makerspace, "The Hub" (featuring 3D printers, laser engravers), public computers, free Wi-Fi, and various programs for all ages such as storytimes, craft workshops, and author talks. The library also provides essential services like notary services, homebound assistance, and voter registration, along with reservable meeting and study rooms. It serves Grayslake and surrounding communities, with a mission focused on lifelong learning, service excellence, respect, inclusivity, creativity, kindness, intellectual freedom, and equitable access.
