The Adams Street Library, a branch of the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL), is a new community-focused space located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. It is BPL's 60th branch and the first new one built since 1983, serving the Vinegar Hill, DUMBO, and Farragut communities, as well as all New Yorkers and visitors. Situated on the ground floor of a former factory building at 9 Adams Street, the library offers stunning views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and downtown Manhattan. The 6,565-square-foot facility provides library materials, meeting rooms, and programming areas for children, teens, and adults. Its design and programming were shaped by extensive community feedback, with a particular emphasis on children's spaces. The library also features new collections, technology, dedicated teen areas, flexible multipurpose spaces for community gatherings, and accessible technology with free Wi-Fi. It aims to be a vibrant cultural hub for the neighborhood.
