Lace up your walking shoes and head to Lake Monroe Park for a guided bird walk led by DeBary Hall staff. Participants will learn the park's history and cultural significance while practicing live bird identification by sight and sound. They will receive assistance adding new species to their personal "Life List" along the way. Keep an eye out for the pileated woodpecker, blue jay, and red-shouldered hawk, plus seasonal surprises. Binoculars are encouraged but not required. Meet at Lake Monroe Park, 975 U. S. Highway 17-92, DeBary. Reservations are not required. Call 386-668-3840 for more information. DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s owned by the State of Florida and managed by Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Division.
