Details:
Wild animals are active all around Moose Hill, even when you can't spot them directly. This family program teaches you to find and read the evidence they leave behind: tracks, homes, feeding signs, and other traces that reveal who's sharing the land with us. Learn a step-by-step process for narrowing down the identity of a track maker and play tracking games along the way that turn the trail into a puzzle worth solving. Understanding what lives here is the first step toward protecting it, and it's never too early to encourage your little one's love of nature. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the program begins. Park in the main parking lot. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. We will travel up to one mile on trails that are unsurfaced with exposed roots, rocks, gradual slopes, and one or two hills. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire program. A notebook can be useful to bring for recording tracks, and observations.
