Details:
National Day is a day when Swedes celebrate the memory of the election of the nation’s founding father, Gustav Vasa, on June 6, 1523.
It was also on this day that a new constitution was adopted in 1809. The name was changed to Swedish Flag Day in 1983, but it wasn’t until 2005 that it became an official public holiday.
On National Day in Sweden, people enjoy Fika with friends, sing, dance, and attend village events in the town square.
