Natalie Norman has been part of the cultural needlework community for over 20 years, participating as a vendor, demonstrator, and teacher at venues such as Gammelgården Museum, American Swedish Institute, and Marine Mills Folk School. Sponsored by the Swedish Embassy in Washington, DC, her embroidered work was featured in a traveling exhibition that visited five major American cities and concluded with a 15-month tour in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2019, Natalie received a fellowship from the American Scandinavian Foundation to study a traditional form of folk art. Courses in fritt broderi at Sätergläntan in Dalarna and påsöm at the Mora Folk School have since deepened her embroidery practice and strengthened her desire to share this passion with others.
