Goodsell Ridge Preserve is an 85-acre natural area in Isle La Motte, Vermont, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the Chazy Fossil Reef, which dates back 480 million years. The preserve offers year-round free access to visitors, who can explore self-guided tours along various trails, including the "Walk Through Time Trail." These trails highlight the ancient marine ecosystem and its fossilized inhabitants. A restored dairy barn serves as a visitor center and museum, featuring fossil displays, interpretive exhibits, and educational videos about the reef's history. The preserve's mission includes promoting scientific research and education, conserving local natural heritage, and fostering public understanding of environmental issues. It is recognized as a National Natural Landmark.
