Details:
Join us as we walk the trails of Point Au Roche State Park and learn about native trees and shrubs on Friday, July 17th.
We're excited to team up with our conservation partners at Point Au Roche State Park on this hike. In addition to enjoying gorgeous Lake Champlain views, we'll make a few stops to identify a variety of trees and shrubs. We will also talk about how you can give native species on your property a boost by removing woody invasives like bush honeysuckle and buckthorn.
What: Native Tree and Shrub Hike (1.5 Miles; Moderate)
Where: Point Au Roche State Park Nature Center
When: Friday, July 17, 2026 - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
What to Bring/Wear: Sturdy boots, camera, water bottle.
Note: Point Au Roche State Park is located just one hour (and one scenic ferry ride!) away from Burlington.
To reach the Nature Center, turn off Route 9 onto Point Au Roche Road, pass the park's first entrance road, and continue for a half-mile to the park's second entrance road (Camp Red Cloud Road). Unlike the western portion of the park, which includes a swimming beach, there is no day use fee for this area of the park.
This event is free, but registration is required.
Please RSVP to: (802) 862-4150, ext. 5 or events@lclt.org.
