Contemporary at Blue Star is a nonprofit contemporary art organization founded by artists in 1986. It serves as an incubator for contemporary art, hosting over 12 exhibitions annually across its four onsite galleries and multiple offsite locations. The organization's mission is to inspire creative genius by nurturing artists through innovative contemporary art. They present global perspectives that encourage understanding and empathy, and offer free public programs for all ages, including artist talks, performances, and family events. Admission to the Contemporary is always free. They also focus on youth development programs and aim to reduce barriers to arts participation.
