Details:
MS & HS 2-Day DNA Workshop
This exciting, two-day workshop for middle and high school students explores the emerging science of DNA barcoding. Participants will dive into all things DNA and understand genetic barcoding’s role in species identification, biodiversity research, and conservation efforts around the world. During this workshop, participants will collect samples, extract their sample’s DNA, and prepare it for sequencing in the lab. Results will be assessed, and when possible, published. This work will contribute to real scientific databases, resulting in a publication for each participant to put on their resumes. No prior lab experience is required, just curiosity and excitement to explore this cutting-edge technology.
We have 2 offerings of our two-day DNA workshops: one is June 30th through July 1st, and the other is July 22nd through July 23rd. The cost listed below is for one offering of the two-day DNA workshop, and is included in the purchase of one workshop. Please do not purchase for a workshop for each day, as it should be one purchase for one two-day workshop.
