DIY Rain Barrel Workshop

Turn a repurposed rolling trash cart into a functional rain barrel and take home a simple, sustainable way to conserve water. During this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the basics of rain barrel safety, installation, and maintenance during a 30-minute introduction, followed by plenty of time to assemble your rain barrel with guidance from our instructors. Each participant will receive an EarthMinded DIY Rain Barrel Kit, which includes all the parts needed to install a rain barrel with a flexible diverter system designed to help prevent overflows while directing water into the barrel. Rain barrels are an easy way to collect rainwater for outdoor watering and other non-potable uses, helping you save water and reduce runoff. If you plan to assemble your rain barrel during the workshop, please bring a drill. You'll also need a vehicle large enough to transport your completed rain barrel home. Please note that collected rainwater is not safe for drinking by humans or animals. Admission: $40 per person
