Details:
Join local birders Mary Parsaca and Mary Orr for a birding walk at Los Luceros Historic Site during "Dawn ’til Dusk Day." This guided event offers both novice and experienced birders a chance to explore an area rich in biodiversity, featuring massive old-growth cottonwoods and the diverse Rio Grande habitat. Over 152 bird species have been observed at this scenic and historically significant site, which was nominated as an Audubon Important Bird Area (IBA). Participants should bring binoculars, a camera (optional), snacks, and water. Some binoculars will be available for lending. The birding walk is limited to 15 participants, so early registration is encouraged. Meet at Los Luceros at 7:00 AM for a 2-mile walk with less than 50 feet of elevation gain on uneven ground. Dogs are not permitted, and admission is free.
