The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a two-session nutrition education series for older adults on Aug. 4 and Aug. 6 in Waco. The cost of the series is $30 per person and both an in-person and virtual option are available. To register, contact Rachel Esquivel at 254-757-5180 or Rachel.esquivel@ag.tamu.edu. Registration may also be completed at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive, Waco. Deadline to register is July 31. The program is designed to help older adults build practical skills for healthy, realistic eating habits. It is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to make informed nutrition choices that support healthy aging. Throughout the series, participants will learn strategies for setting personal wellness goals, building balanced meals, understanding and using the nutrition facts label, stretching their food budget through smart shopping and planning quick, nutritious and affordable meals.
