Southern Arts Society (SASi) is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 with the mission to promote the arts by training artists and educating the public. Based in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, SASi offers a variety of services including visual art displays, scholarships for local students, and workshops open to all. They provide classes in arts and ceramics throughout the year. SASi also features an art gallery and a gift shop, the Jo Ann Ford Gift Shop, which showcases fine arts and crafts from over 75 regional artists, including paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography, woodwork, and wearable art. Membership benefits include discounts on classes and workshops, access to a lending library, and the opportunity to sell work in the gift shop. SASi regularly sponsors art exhibits and competitions, and hosts monthly programs, group meetings (such as Colored Pencil Group, Knitting and Crochet Group, and Shutterlight Photo Group), and open studio sessions.
