Sky Stage

59 S Carroll St, Frederick, MD 21701, USA

Sky Stage, programmed and managed by the Frederick Arts Council, transformed a boarded property in the heart of Frederick, Maryland’s downtown historic district into a center for arts and culture. 59 South Carroll Street, a pre-Revolutionary War building, was damaged by a major fire in 2010 and had been boarded for several years. In late summer of 2016, the plywood boards on the doors and windows were removed to reveal an interactive art space. The open-air theater offers arts and cultural activities for people of all ages including drama, live music, children’s story time, art classes and installations, folklore, history, environment and ecology, film, and private events from mid-spring to mid-fall. Sky Stage hosted its grand opening on Saturday, September 17th, 2016. frederickartscouncil.org
