The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band is a part-time professional, adult concert band that serves the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin community and surrounding areas. Its mission is to provide experienced adult musicians with a sophisticated playing opportunity and to offer residents the chance to hear quality band literature performed. The band, a successor to the Fond du Lac Military Band founded in 1898, reorganized in 1974 and engages in weekly rehearsals during the school year, culminating in concerts such as the Cathedral Concert in November and a Pops Concert in April. Additionally, a "summer band" tradition continues with outdoor concert series in local communities and music for various events. The organization is limited to charitable and educational purposes.
