Details:
Comprised of the finest professional brass players in the Midwestern United States, the ISTHMUS BRASS is Wisconsin’s premiere large brass ensemble. Established in 2009, the Isthmus Brass was formed in Madison when some of the best and busiest brass players in Southern Wisconsin looked for a way to collaborate and perform together. They initially decided to the put their energy and talents toward performing charitable Christmas Concerts especially for Porchlight, Inc. Since their inception, they have raised over $150,000 over the many years of continuing this annual tradition. Since then, they have stepped on to the international stage especially with a critically acclaimed Summit Records release, “Isthmus Brass Christmas” and a second holiday album, “We Need a Little Christmas.” The ensemble is active year-round and regularly presents concerts of varying styles and repertoire on concert series throughout the Midwest.
This free concert will feature a wide selection of pieces, from de Abreu's Tico Tico and Sousa's El Capitan to Strauss' Fanfare “Stadt Wien” and Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, ensuring something for everyone!
The performance by Isthmus Brass is sponsored by Steve and Lynne Uecker, in loving memory of their daughter Lauren Katharine Uecker; John and Sandy Wright; and Dr. Steven Meress.
Show starts at 7:15 pm! Food concession NOT available. Rain location: County Fairgrounds
