Audubon Acres, also known as the Elise Chapin Wildlife Sanctuary, is a 130-acre nature preserve in Chattanooga, Tennessee, owned and operated by the Chattanooga Audubon Society. Its mission is to preserve and protect environmental, cultural, and historical resources through programming, education, and stewardship. The sanctuary serves as the headquarters for the Chattanooga Audubon Society, which is the area's oldest conservancy organization, founded in 1944. Audubon Acres offers visitors hiking trails, seasonal water access to South Chickamauga Creek, educational exhibits, and historical sites, including the Spring Frog Cabin, which is linked to Cherokee history. The organization relies on community generosity for funding and offers various programs and events for all ages.
