Details:
The Written Word Dyslexia Therapy Training (TWW-DTT) offers two distinct courses for educators in Summer '26: an Advanced Course and an Introductory Course. Both programs teach multisensory methods to support students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences, utilizing the evidence-based Orton-Gillingham-based curriculum called Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia, developed by the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas. These courses are approved by Scottish Rite for Children and accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC). Participants have the opportunity to earn Certification as a Academic Language Therapist (CALT) through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) upon completing the two-year course requirements. The training aligns with the International Dyslexia Association's (IDA) Knowledge of Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Additionally, there is an opportunity for graduate-level credit towards a Master of Education degree in Special Education or Reading through King’s College, PA.
