Details:
The Written Word Dyslexia Therapy Training (TWW-DTT) offers two courses for educators in Summer '26: an Advanced Course and an Introductory Course. Both programs provide training in multisensory teaching techniques designed to support students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences. Participants will learn to implement the Take Flight curriculum, an Orton-Gillingham-based language therapy program developed by the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas, which is grounded in evidence-based research.
The training is approved by Scottish Rite for Children and accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC). Upon completion of the two-year course requirements, educators will have the opportunity to obtain Certification as an Academic Language Therapist (CALT) through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA). The course content aligns with the International Dyslexia Association’s Knowledge of Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Furthermore, participants can earn graduate-level credit toward a Master's degree in Special Education or Reading from King’s College, PA.
