Details:
Join us on July 4th at the History Center Museum and the Colonial Courthouse to celebrate Independence Day while immersing yourself in American history! The History Center Museum will feature the newly opened “Revolutionary York” exhibit in the Brougher Gallery, highlighting York's pivotal role as the nation’s capital in 1777, including key events like the adoption of the Articles of Confederation and the diverse experiences of York County residents during the Revolution. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for members, with operating hours from 9 AM to 1 PM, coinciding with the Cultural Fair across the street.
At the Colonial Courthouse, enjoy an open house where you can explore the reconstructed building, ask questions about York's history, and view 18th Century artifacts. The courthouse is conveniently located along the parade route, allowing you to witness York County's celebration of America's 250th Anniversary. Note that the Fire Museum and Agricultural and Industrial Museum will be closed on July 4th, but both the History Center Museum and Colonial Courthouse will be open for visits. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with our historical heritage on this special day!
