The Bronxville Public Library, established as a Reading Room in 1875 and settled in its current location in 1942, serves as a vital cultural hub and community gathering space at the heart of the Village. Its mission is to foster a love of reading, provide opportunities for lifelong learning, and facilitate social interactions, positioning itself as a cherished village treasure and community connector. The library offers innovative educational, literary, musical, and artistic programs for all ages, alongside a welcoming environment within its historic building, which includes rooms for performances, exhibitions, and meetings. Patrons have access to a diverse collection of current books and digital materials, as well as extensive resources and reference services through the Westchester Library System (WLS). The library also maintains a permanent fine art collection and partners with other institutions to meet evolving community needs. Services include access to computers, printing, copying, scanning, e-readers, tutoring, visually impaired services, and room rentals. As a member of the Westchester Library System, cardholders can access collections from all WLS libraries, reserve museum passes, borrow pre-loaded e-readers, and utilize OverDrive Advantage for digital content. The library is funded through Village taxes and governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Mayor.
