Curly (aka Karen Schleifer) is a true multi-hyphenate artist who started her performance career on Broadway in the original production of Annie. After learning to play guitar and becoming a songwriter (her first album Only The Ocean was released in 2003) she started jamming regularly on St. Marks Place in NYC. It was then that she met her musical brother Steve Gregoire and the idea of Shotgun Curly was born - a band with rotating members playing Curly originals, rock, blues and everything in between. They have played such notable venues as Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Parkside Lounge, Pianos, Kenny’s Castaways, Funkadelic Studios, The Transparent Clinch Gallery, Tribeca Grill and dozens of other places in NYC and the Jersey Shore. Today’s version of Shotgun Curly includes the members of Steve’s current project, Gnatural: Kyle Bokert (keys), the aforementioned Steve Gregoire (electric guitar), Jay Lynch (bass guitar) & Chris “Willie” Williams (drums)!
