The Daly City History Museum is operated by the Daly City History Guild Museum & Archive, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of local artifacts unique to Daly City. We have interpretive exhibits assembled in a large two room art deco former library, originally built in 1920 and expanded in 1938. Among our vast collection is a fully-restored 1907 fire department, hand- drawn chemical pumper, Ohlone Native American artifacts, and materials relating to the 1859 Broderick - Terry Duel, which was fought in part over the issue of slavery and resulted in the official ending of dueling in California. We also have a gift shop which features books by local authors, Daly City Centennial DVD, note cards, first-day commemorative postage, and more. There is no charge for admission to the museum, however, donations are always appreciated.
