The Reverse Engineering Foundation is a student-led initiative focused on building hardware literacy in elementary and middle school students (7-13-year-olds) through hands-on engineering experiences. The camp emphasizes learning by: building, experimenting, and problem-solving. Students will be introduced to core electrical and engineering concepts through practical activities, including circuitry fundamentals such as voltage, current, resistance, and Ohm’s Law. They will work with breadboards to construct real circuits, explore series and parallel configurations, and learn how to interpret basic schematics. The program will also include an introduction to Arduino, where students will write simple code to control their electrical creations. Throughout the camp, they will engage with essential electronic components like LEDs, resistors, and sensors to understand how real-world systems function. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance.
