Details:
The Genuine Star-Spangled Banner: Flag of America's Second War of Independence, presented by Sharon Danhauer, is a component of Loveland Historical Society's year to celebrate the nation's 250th and the state's 150th anniversaries. The American flag that flew over Ft. McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812 became the Star-Spangled Banner. Francis Scott Key's poem written about the battle, and set to an old English tavern tune, became our national anthem. Come learn the story and understand the meaning of the lyrics.
