Join us for a vibrant August at the Louisville Zoo, featuring two exciting events: the August Animal Birthday Bash and the ninth annual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Awareness Day.
The August Animal Birthday Bash invites you to celebrate the animals born this month with engaging activities that connect you to wildlife. Enjoy special keeper chats where you can hear firsthand stories from the caretakers and witness unique animal enrichment as our birthday stars indulge in special treats and toys. This celebration is designed to deepen your connection with the animals and support their care at the Zoo.
Later in the month, participate in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Awareness Day in partnership with Kentucky Hands & Voices. This inclusive event features ASL interpreters at various habitats, along with keeper talks and animal training demonstrations. Children who are deaf or hard of hearing can receive a free ticket with pre-registration, while discounted tickets are available for friends and family.
