Fishing Fest

Join us for the annual Fishing Fest at the Hydaway Outdoor Center! This free, community-wide fishing derby is open to university students and the local community, offering an exciting morning of competition at Hydaway Lake from 9 a.m. to Noon. Compete for awards like most fish caught and heaviest fish, and be sure to report all catches to the competition tent before winners are announced at Noon!

Registration is required, and participants must have a valid Virginia fishing license to compete. LU students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of free fishing rods and tackle rentals on the day of the event. Whether you are a seasoned angler or just looking to enjoy the outdoors, this is one event that is sure to reel in the fun!
