Paddle the James: Canoe Landing to Dixon Landing

Join us for an exciting day at James River State Park with two engaging activities: "Paddle the James" and "Crafty Critters."

**Paddle the James** offers a ranger-guided canoe float from Canoe Landing to Dixon Landing, covering approximately 2 miles over two hours. Perfect for beginners, this tour provides essential paddling techniques while exploring the river’s rich history and diverse wildlife. Participants must be at least 6 years old, and children ages 6–12 must be accompanied by an adult. All safety equipment is provided, but prior registration is required, with a fee of $20 per person. Please wear suitable clothing and closed-toe shoes, and bring water and snacks.

After paddling, unleash your creativity at **Crafty Critters**, where young artists can create nature-themed crafts such as animal masks and puppets. Each craft session allows participants to learn interesting facts about the animals they depict. Suitable for all ages, this activity meets at Canoe Landing, with all materials provided. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle.
