Calling all Irvington Farmers' Market kids and their families!
Join the POP Club at the Irvington Farmers' Market every Sunday in June for fun, hands-on activities that teach kids about where their food comes from, how it's grown, and why eating fresh is important. Each week brings a new adventure - here's what's coming up:
June 7 - Eat the Rainbow
Different fruits & veggies are different colors, and therefore have different nutritional super powers! Learn about how to design a plate of yummy food as beautiful as the rainbow.
June 14 - How Many Miles
Our food goes on a journey to get to us - from the farm where it's grown to the farmers market where it's sold! Learn more about how far your produce travels!
June 21 - Fresh vs. Dried
What are the differences in taste & texture, and why do farmers dry their fruit each season? Try some of what's in season & learn about different produce preservation methods!
June 28 - Food Rescue Heroes
Calling all POP Club superheroes! Eat your fruits & veggies, even when they may not look perfect. Learn about food waste, how to prevent it, and the value of saving imperfect produce.
