Details:
Do you like to read or listen to audiobooks? Do you also like to quilt, sew, knit, crochet or make other fabric art? Join us for a new book club that combines reading and fabric art. At home: Read anything you'd like, or listen to any audiobook you'd like. Make something with fabric, thread, or yarn that reminds you of what you've read. At the library: Bring your book and the project you made to the book club. Tell everyone about the book you read and show off your project. Ideas for fabric art: Crochet a granny square or sew a quilt block in the colors from the cover of the book you read. Embroider a motif that reminds you of something you read. Applique a design from the book. Make a pompom with the colors from the cover of the book. Over time, you'll have enough smaller projects created to combine into a larger project that you can enjoy for years to come. This program takes place in The Spark and is for adults. Registration is not required, but space is limited to the first 15 people. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least 7 business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org .
