Join us for a combined experience of art and gardening at the Chapungu Sculpture Park and the High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC). Enjoy a guided tour of the Chapungu Sculpture Park, featuring Zimbabwean sculpture art set against a backdrop of African and Colorado native plants. Tour highlights will include discussions on ecological features, native plants, culture, and wildlife, led by Jim Tolstrup, Executive Director and Landscape Architect. Recommended items to bring include walking shoes, sunscreen, binoculars, and water. Meet by the restrooms at entrance #6 (Coordinates: 40.413787, -104.988356).
Following the tour, you are invited to participate in the Saturday Morning Garden Club at HPEC, open to all ages. Join Jim and a group of volunteers for various gardening tasks such as weeding, mulching, planting, and more. Meet at the HPEC Visitor’s Center, and be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and dress in layers. Recommended items include a water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
