Details:
Join us for an exciting summer at the library with our Teen Volunteer Program and two engaging events: the Summer Reading Challenge Table and Lunch at the Library! Teens can volunteer at the Summer Reading Challenge table, helping families sign up for the program, distributing tickets and stickers, and promoting the joys of reading.
Additionally, Lunch at the Library offers free lunches for children aged 18 and under on the library lawn, where teen volunteers will read stories. After lunch, kids can enjoy popsicles, play games, and participate in outdoor activities. This program runs Monday to Thursday and is part of the Summer Food Service Program, ensuring accessibility for all.
For adults, the Brown Bag Book Club meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from noon to 1:00 PM in the Leake Room. The second Wednesday features a discussion on a selected book, while the fourth Wednesday allows for informal sharing about books members have read.
Both events aim to foster community engagement and a love of reading, making the library a vibrant hub for all ages!
