Help care for Kaweah Oaks Preserve through habitat restorations, trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and other hands-on stewardship projects.

Kaweah Oaks Preserve protects one of the last remaining valley oak riparian forests in the San Joaquin Valley. The preserve provides an important habitat for wildlife, opportunities for outdoor recreation, and a place for the community to connect with nature.

Volunteers help care for the preserve through hands-on projects that support habitat health, visitor access, and long-term conservation. Activities vary throughout the year and may include planting native species, removing invasive plants, maintaining trails collecting seeds, and improving visitor spaces.

No experience is necessary. Tasks can be adapted for a wide range of ages, abilities, and comfort levels, with opportunities for both active and lighter-duty work. Whether you’re interested in conservation, spending time outdoors, learning new skills, or giving back to your community, Stewardship Days offer a rewarding way to get involved.

Along the way, volunteers have the opportunity to connect with Sequoia Riverlands Trust staff, learn more about the preserve’s unique ecology, and gain a deeper understanding of the conservation work happening throughout the region.
