Help grow native plants at Dry Creek Nursery through propagation, plant care, and hands-on volunteer projects.
Dry Creek Nursery is home to thousands of California native plants grown for habitat restoration projects, educational programs, community landscapes, and plant sales. Throughout the year, volunteers help care for these plants while learning more about California’s unique native ecosystems.
Volunteer activities vary based on seasonal nursery needs and may include potting seedlings, filling containers with soil, propagation, seed collection, greenhouse organization, transplanting, weeding, moving plants throughout the nursery, and general nursery maintenance.
No experience is necessary. Tasks can be adapted for a wide range of ages, abilities, and comfort levels, with opportunities for both seated and active work. Whether you’re interested in learning about native plants, connecting with others, or supporting local conservation efforts, Nursery Volunteer Days offer a welcoming way to get involved.
Along the way, volunteers have the opportunity to connect with SRT staff, learn more about Dry Creek Preserve, and gain a behind-the-scenes look at the work that supports restoration and conservation efforts throughout the region.
