Chapter Chasers Book Club: THE SHREW DETECTIVE: THE CASE OF THE PILFERED PEARLS

Free RSVP here! Chapter Chasers Book Club is designed for emerging readers (ages 6-9) who are chasing the thrill of reading their first chapter books! We encourage both independent reading and family read-alouds for these selections, with the goal of getting kids excited about reading and fostering connections with a community of readers. Our 20-minute book discussion is followed by a themed read-aloud and craft or game. Our August discussion will center on Margi Preus’ new illustrated novel, THE SHREW DETECTIVE: THE CASE OF THE PILFERED PEARLS, where Wind in the Willows meets Enola Holmes! We intentionally chose an end-of-summer selection that skews a tad older (ages 7-10) in order to help combat the “summer slide” and take advantage of more reading opportunities during the summer months. Parents are welcome to stay on the Junior side and participate or browse the adult side, but they must remain on-site.
