Details:
Join us for the "Woodworking – Magic Bottle Holder" class at Molten Makerspace, where you'll create a stunning and gravity-defying bottle holder that’s perfect for festive displays, unique gifts, or as an impressive party trick. In this hands-on workshop, suitable for all skill levels aged 10 and up (with parental supervision for those under 15), you'll learn essential woodworking techniques. These include using measuring and marking tools, a miter box and hand saw, a tabletop drill press, a hand-held router, and sanding to achieve a polished finish. You'll also apply a wipe-on Polycrylic finish, which requires an overnight cure before you can pick up your completed project.
To ensure safety, participants must wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and tie back long hair; personal protective equipment will be provided. Please note that this is a dusty activity, so wear clothes you're comfortable getting dirty. The bottle holder is designed primarily for display and may not fit all bottle shapes; it should not be washed.
Instructor: Tannis Boyajian
