Across Oceans, Across Walls: German Connections in Kernersville

June 12, 22, and 23 | 3:00 – 5:00 PM Join us for a special guided tour exploring the remarkable collaboration between Jule Körner and German-born decorative artist Caesar Milch, whose work helped shape the artistic vision of Körner’s Folly. Through surviving murals, decorative painting, historic photographs, and architectural spaces, visitors will discover how ideas, craftsmanship, and artistic traditions traveled across continents to influence one of North Carolina’s most extraordinary houses. The tour will also examine the work of the Reuben Rink House Decorating & Furnishing Company and the broader story of transnational decorative arts at the turn of the twentieth century. Presented in partnership with the nearby Kernersville Museum, which will be open during program hours, this special program invites visitors to explore the German influences that helped shape both Körner’s Folly and the wider Kernersville community. Together, these experiences reveal how a small North Carolina town was connected to a much larger world through immigration, industry, art, and cultural exchange.
