Details:
As part of the Delaware City / Polktown Juneteenth Observance, the Library is hosting a photographic journey of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway. The Library has partnered with award-winning Delaware City photographer Lynn Dilliplane for a display featuring the byways historic sites within the state of Delaware. Lynn Dilliplane received her first camera at the age of five, igniting a lifelong passion. She later attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and interned at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Photography and Print Department. Lynn has owned her own studio and business since 1973, offering portraits and fine art photographs, as well as wildlife and landscape views from her wanderings with her husband and trusted driver, Tim. The exhibit opens June 1 and runs through July 2. A framed print from the collection, entitled The Lock, will be available for raffle through June 13, when the winning ticket will be drawn at the Sankofa event that evening. We hope youll join us for this melding of art, local history, and books! Underground Railroad Coalition of Delaware - www.ugrrdelaware.org/ Lynn Dilliplane / Studio 118 at www.facebook.com/Studio118
