NEW: IN-PERSON ONLY Our library events may no longer be attended virtually via Zoom. Trevor Roe of Transient Cyber specializes in cyber security, and he will teach you how to protect your information, identity and devices in this free, 5-part series on Wed. evenings from 5:30 - 6:45 pm. Each session will begin with a presentation on a particular topic. Trevor and assistants will then provide 1-on-1 assistance as YOU apply what youve learned to your own devices in a hands-on session. Apr - May: Attend in person only. IMPORTANT: This series is for users who have some experience using their devices for email browsing the internet. Bring your registered, fully-charged devices with you to each session, as well as any PINs or Logins youll need (ie, Apple ID Password, email login/password, lock screen PIN, etc.) For Windows, Apple, Android devices. Topics include: Jan. 14: Personal Cybersecurity Laptops (lock screen, security settings, password manager, etc.) Feb. 11: Personal Cybersecurity and the Internet (internet browser options security settings, secure internet access, safe websites, etc.) Mar. 11: Personal Cybersecurity My Accounts (email, updating storing passwords, multi-factor authentication, etc.) Apr. 8: Personal Cybersecurity My Files (file management backups, storage options, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud.) RESCHEDULED: June 3: Personal Cybersecurity Social Media (information privacy, how to update/secure social media accounts,social media safe use tips) Registration is required for EACH session. All may attend the presentation and get a printed tips handout. The first 20 who register will ALSO have the opportunity to get assistance during the hands-on portion (20 students max.) . Walks-ins accepted if space allows.
