Details:
In collaboration with Film Diary NYC, Cinéseries is hosting a special satellite program featuring a presentation by the organizers and a program of shorts from Film Diary 4. Film Diary NYC programs experimental, autobiographical films that capture the personal history and daily experiences of filmmakers. Through an annual festival and ongoing special events, Film Diary provides a platform for the most heartfelt but most overlooked cinema: diary films, home movies, and personal documentaries. For this program, Film Diary NYC organizers Saint Piñero and Sage Ó Tuama will join us in person for an hour-long presentation about their shared curatorial project, shedding light on the organization’s history and engaging with broader topics around experimental film curation, DIY organizing, and the state of contemporary underground film. The presentation will include a selection of short films and invite open conversation with the audience. After the presentation, stick around for a program of short films programmed by Cinéseries president Tristan Turner from the Film Diary program. The program will feature works by Ohio-based filmmakers Alexis McCrimmon and Michael Alexander Morris, among others. Full program to be announced.
