Reformer Pilates: Intermediate

🕒 45 Minutes | Instructor-Approved Enrollment Only

This Intermediate Reformer Pilates class is designed for students who have built a strong foundation through our Reformer Intro, Beginner, and Beginner Progression classes and are ready to challenge their strength, stability, and control at the next level.

Please note: Participation in this class is by invitation only. Students must demonstrate proficiency in the Pilates Principles and receive approval from a Restore instructor or apprentice before attending.

🔑 Pilates Principles Required for this class to move safely and effectively at the intermediate level, clients must exhibit:

Concentration – Focused attention on each movement, allowing for deep mind-body connection.

Control – Mastery over muscular engagement and movement patterns to prevent momentum-based movement.

Centering – Movement initiated from the "powerhouse" (core), with visible strength and control through the abdominals, back, and hips.

Precision – Clear alignment and purposeful execution of every movement.

Breath – Coordinated, intentional breath to facilitate movement, control effort, and reduce tension.

Flow – A continuous, smooth rhythm to movements that reflects understanding and integration of the above principles.

Short Box Series with advanced variations

Back Rowing & Front Rowing Series

Expect progressions in tempo, complexity, spring changes, and multi-plane movement. This class will challenge your endurance, proprioception, and ability to maintain connection and form under dynamic load.

⚠️ Contraindications for Intermediate Reformer Classes:

This class may not be suitable for individuals with:

Acute or chronic shoulder, wrist, or knee injuries

Uncontrolled blood pressure or cardiovascular conditions

Spinal conditions (e.g., disc herniation, severe scoliosis)

Pregnancy, unless with explicit clearance and modifications advised by an instructor

Limited ability to transition quickly between positions or tolerate weight-bearing on hands or knees
