Details:
This is the first in our Storytime Summer Series which takes place outside at different Parks around Braintree. We will be at Lincoln Park today, which is at the corner of Hobart Street and May Street. Miss Elisabeth starts with stories, songs and action songs. Best for ages 2 1/2 - 4. Bring a blanket or towel for extra comfort.
Then there is a Storywalk and Craft available to all. It is presented by Kate Hooper of Historic New England.
A Storywalk is when each page of a book is posted separately in an outdoor area. People walk around to each page to read it. It encourages movement in nature. If there is rain, the Storytime, Craft and Storywalk will take place in the Children's Room of the library.
This program is funded by a grant from the Braintree Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
This program is part of Thayer Public Library's Plant a Seed, Read Summer Reading Programs. Statewide summer reading programs are supported by the Massachusetts Library System, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Boston Bruins, with funding from the Institute of Museums and Library Services. The Thayer Public Library Summer Reading Program is additionally supported by local sponsor Starland Sportsplex (Hanover).
