Local Author Meet and Greet: Debbie Gassert

We're thrilled to host local author Debbie Gassert for a meet and greet to share information about her amazing true crime non-fiction book, Mighty Neighborly: A True Story of the Fredrick Iwert Murder. On April 20,1983, Fredrick Iwert, a rural Kansas farmer, disappeared never to be seen nor heard from again. After 40 years, he is still listed on the national database as a missing person. Even though the community was unable to find his body, Fred’s neighbor was convicted of his murder. It was only the second time in Kansas history a jury convicted someone of murder with no body.

After more than two years of research and interviews, Gassert has written a true crime book that will appeal to readers of true crime, detective stories, legal thrillers, mysteries and anyone who is intrigued by unsolved puzzles.
