Details:
Have you ever wondered how a seed becomes a plant? Students entering grades 4-6 in Fall 2026 are invited to The Hickories for a special hands-on learning experience that explores the life cycle of a plant and the wide assortment of seeds that exist in the world. We will observe and sort a variety of seeds and learn about germination and how seeds are collected, cleaned and stored. Each participant will sow some native wildflower seeds to take home with them. Registration is required and opens on June 30, 2026. Please note that this program takes place at The Hickories, 136 Lounsbury Road, Ridgefield. All students must be accompanied by an adult. This activity is part of the Ridgefield Library's 2026 Summer Reading Program: Plant a Seed, Read and is sponsored by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library. Accessibility The Library makes every effort to ensure our programs can be enjoyed by all.
