Paint a Famous Forged Chagall with artist & teacher Lauren Teton"Let's paint a forged Chagall, that Hung in Prince Charles’ Palace!"Art forgers do not always copy existing art. They also create new artworks in the style of an artist, sometimes to fool people for profit, and sometimes as commissioned by clients to make believable copies to be hung in their homes. We will paint the “Chagall” that was created by renowned art forger Tony Tetro and caused a scandal! Lauren Teton is the only art teacher with permission from Mr. Tetro to teach this painting!Tetro wrote a memoir called Con/Artist – The Life and Crimes of the World’s Greatest Art Forger which is recommended reading before this class, and available at the library and bookstores. If already checked out at our library, staff will be happy to borrow it from another library for you. We will paint Paris con Amor. This charming painting combines elements often found in Chagall paintings and was so convincing that it hung in a royal collection of paintings lent to Prince Charles at Dumfries House, Scotland in 2017.
