The American Helicopter Museum & Education Center (AHMEC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history, science, and technology of rotary-wing aviation. Located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, it houses one of the world's largest collections of rotorcraft, featuring over 40 civilian and military helicopters, autogyros, and convertiplanes, including early-generation models. AHMEC's mission is to collect, preserve, research, publish, and exhibit artifacts related to helicopters, while also educating the public about their development and lifesaving missions. The museum offers immersive, multi-sensory experiences and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages, aiming to inspire future generations of aviation enthusiasts. It also maintains an extensive research library and is one of only two museums globally to display a V-22 Osprey.
